Grammy Award-winning executive Amir Windom will speak at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16 at Bradford Auditorium as part of Āé¶¹Ö±²„ās (KSU) Black History Series and Menās Conference. The month-long Black History Series will bring distinguished African-American speakers to Āé¶¹Ö±²„ to motivate its audience. The Menās Conference is hosted every year to encourage and inspire the men on KSUās campus.
Windom is considered one of top entertainment and record executives of his generation. During his career, he has worked with top artists such as the band āFunā, T.I., Trey Songz, Lupe Fiasco, Madonna, Bruno Mars, B.O.B., and Kanye West. He has also worked on several Grammy Award-winning albums, songs, and soundtracks that have earned a high status in the entertainment business.
Being a television and film music supervisor, Windom has helped create music and creative strategies for major companies such as Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Lionsgate Films. He has also worked on TV shows such as BETās āBeing Mary Jane,ā āEntourageā (HBO), ALPHAS (SyFy); and movies such as āAct Like A Lady Think Like A Man,ā āTAKERS,ā āStomp the Yard 2,ā āDespicable Me 2,ā and āWhy Did I Get Married 2.ā Windom has helped create marketing strategies for ESPN, Kodak, Adidas, and Coca Cola.
When heās not working, Windom serves the community as an active participant of the Grammy Foundation, 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Boys & Girls Club of America, the United Negro College Fund, and more.
A graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU), Amir Windom has received the 40/40 Young Alumni Award. This prestigious award is given to FAMU alumni under 40 years old who have made impressive accomplishments in their careers and communities. He is also a recipient of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc.ās Man of the Year Award.
Windom has given speeches at Harvard University, University of Southern California, Operation Smile Global Conference-Ireland, South Africa Music and Entertainment Symposium, Empower Me Tour, Radio One Music Summit, Howard University, Steve Harveyās Mentoring Summit, Grammy Foundation, New York University, University of Kentucky, and soon, Āé¶¹Ö±²„.
