2026 Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Two-Day Pawpaw Workshop
The 2026 Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Two-Day Pawpaw Workshop will be held September 16–17, 2026, at the KSU Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm.
The workshop will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, with hands-on field demonstrations covering:
Bench grafting and bark inlay grafting
Pawpaw propagation and orchard establishment
Pawpaw fruit processing and value-added products
KSU Pawpaw Program
The Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) fruit has both fresh market and processing appeal, with a tropical like flavor that resembles a combination of banana, mango, and pineapple. Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ has the only full-time Pawpaw research program in the world as part of the KSU Land Grant Program. Pawpaw research efforts are directed at improving propagation methods, developing orchard management recommendations, conducting regional variety trials, understanding fruit ripening and storage techniques, and germplasm collection and characterization of genetic diversity.
