Meet Ronny Smith 鈥 A proud senior here at 麻豆直播!

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Ronny is an Elementary Education major and a dancer on the Captivating K-Rette Dance Team of the Mighty Marching Thorobreds. With family and mentors who are KSU alumni, and fond memories of attending Homecoming with her mom, Ronny always felt K-State was calling her name.

Since becoming a Thorobred, she鈥檚 embraced the spotlight on the field. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an unbeatable feeling,鈥 she says of performing during halftime. 鈥淭here鈥檚 nothing I can compare to being part of the band鈥攊t鈥檚 amazing.鈥 Though she was new to the world of HBCU-style marching bands, the moment she experienced it in high school, she knew it was where she belonged. 鈥淣ow that I鈥檓 here, I can鈥檛 imagine my life without it.鈥

But Ronny shines just as brightly in the classroom. A passionate future educator, she鈥檚 driven by her belief that 鈥渆ducation is one thing no one can take from you.鈥 Whether she鈥檚 tutoring students or learning alongside faculty who鈥檝e walked the same path, she鈥檚 fueled by a commitment to inspire the next generation.

She鈥檚 also a two-year member of the Student Government Association, an active participant in KSU Girls Rock, and a member of the Kentucky Educators Association. For Ronny, what makes KSU truly special is the close-knit community鈥攚here professors show up to support students beyond the classroom, where small class sizes foster real connection, and where she continues to grow by learning alongside peers and mentors who want to see her succeed.
