Dear Leadership Team and Campus Community,

Â鶹ֱ²¥ (KSU) is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and student-ready campus community where the mental health and well-being of every student, faculty, and staff member are prioritized. In alignment with this mission, we are pleased to introduce Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training as part of our wellness and student success initiatives.

Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based public education program that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges or substance use concerns. Much like CPR equips individuals to assist during a physical health crisis, MHFA equips our community to provide initial support during a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is available.

This training will be administered by Kelly Ruff, M.Ed., LPCC-S, Director of Student Wellness and Experience, who brings extensive expertise in supporting mental health on our campus.

By completing this training, you will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize when someone is struggling and to take meaningful, appropriate action. Together, we can foster a safer, healthier, and more supportive environment for all Thorobreds. Please make sure you sign up today. This is a two-part training session. Make sure you sign up for both learning opportunities. KSU Administrators, this training is mandatory.
