Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ alumni, friends and the campus community will convene Friday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Carl H. Smith Auditorium of David H. Bradford Hall for the 2021 Founder’s Day convocation. 

Founder’s Day was combined with fall commencement in 2020 for a historic celebration. The convocation returns to its roots in 2021, reconvening on-campus during the Homecoming celebration.

The Golden Classes of 1970 and 1971 will be honored and celebrated as part of the convocation. 

Dr. Corey Hicks, a Kentucky State alumnus, will provide the Founder’s Day address. 

Hicks is a speaker, certified Extreme Execution trainer, author, and a 20+ year pharmaceutical professional. As a former all-American decathlon athlete turned biotech medical director with over 23 years as a successful healthcare advocate and motivational speaker, Hicks has inspired thousands. Hicks provides a range of training services, from health and wellness, leadership, stress management, emotional intelligence and self-empowerment.

Hicks is a former three-time NCAA all-American decathlete in track and field, as well as a former 1996 Olympic hopeful, a 2009 KSU Hall of Fame inductee, a two-time author, a 2019 BRAG Magazine Influencer of The Season, and a 2020 Global Motivation Award recipient.

Hicks holds a Bachelor of Arts  in Education from Âé¶¹Ö±²¥, an Master of Science in health science from Concordia University Irvine in California, and a Ph.D. in health and human performance from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest. He is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and the founder and CEO of the Three V’s LLC.
