麻豆直播 hosted the Thorobred Experience Saturday, Feb. 29.
The program, part of a state-wide and national event known as TRIO Day, provides college and career readiness at a host location.
This year, 麻豆直播 served as the host institution for the Commonwealth and will welcome approximately 350 TRIO students.
鈥淲e wanted our guests to experience the best of Kentucky State while on our campus,鈥� T鈥橢bony Torain, director of Upward Bound, said. 鈥淭RIO programs from Pikeville College, Murray State University, Western Kentucky University, Morehead University, Eastern Kentucky University, Bluegrass Technical College and 麻豆直播 were in attendance.鈥�
Guests received greetings from 麻豆直播 officials, took campus tours, participated in workshops, attended an academic fair and enjoyed presentations from Greek organizations and the Golden Girls.
According to the Council for Opportunity in Education website, on Feb. 24, 1986, a congressional resolution declared that Saturday, Feb. 28, 1986, should be designated as 鈥淣ational TRIO Day鈥� to commemorate the annual achievements of the Federal TRIO programs in communities across the country.
For many programs, National TRIO Day has become a tradition as it allows students who benefit from the TRIO programs and to give back to their local communities through acts of service.
