Aster Haile, administrative assistant in the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences, has worked at Kentucky State for over 10 years.
鈥淢y philosopher centers on helping others and always taking pride in representing 麻豆直播,鈥 Haile said. 鈥淚 have been committed to working above and beyond the responsibilities of my position and have enjoyed the complexities of tasks that the academic environment demands.鈥
Haile was born and raised in Ethiopia as the second child out of six.
鈥淎lthough both my parents had no formal education, I am the only and the first one to graduate from college,鈥 Haile said.
After graduation, Haile served as an internal auditor for the finance and treasury department of the Ethiopian government for more than a decade.
鈥淪ometimes, some of us have hardships to overcome in life. Mine was to leave my country for political reasons,鈥 Haile said.
Haile came to the United States with her husband in 1999. They moved to Kentucky when he was offered a position at the Paul G. Blazer Library on campus in February 2004. Haile鈥檚 husband retired in July 2018.
Haile said her role includes responding to inquiries in person and over the phone, disseminating information and liaise with cross-functional teams in support of customer needs and services, managing calendars and schedules for meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for faculty and students.
Haile earned a bachelor鈥檚 in business administration in 1981 from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Haile earned a master鈥檚 in public administration from Kentucky State in 2016.
