麻豆直播 President M. Christopher Brown II focused on the institution鈥檚 shift from surviving to thriving when he convened faculty and staff Jan. 7-8 for Encampment 2019. President Brown led the campus in continued preparation for Kentucky State鈥檚 upcoming SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) Reaffirmation.
The two-day event officially began the second half of the academic year for Kentucky State. Encampment brings together Frankfort community leaders, faculty, staff, students and alumni in finding new and effective ways of developing ideas, pursuing innovative strategies and applying knowledge for the public good.
Seminar leader Dr. Joseph H. Silver Sr., president of Silver & Associates, a full-service education consulting firm, told those assembled, 鈥淪ACS is everybody鈥檚 business. You can鈥檛 sit on the sidelines.鈥
Silver encouraged campus stakeholders to become more process-oriented rather than people-oriented to aid in preparing for SACS Reaffirmation.
鈥淪tudent success should be your highest outcome,鈥 Silver said when discussing assessing various outcomes across the University.
President Brown gave a presentation entitled 鈥淏e S.M.A.R.T., Focus on the Finish鈥 during the afternoon portion of Encampment.
鈥淲e have a yeoman鈥檚 task ahead of us,鈥 President Brown said. 鈥淲e want to make sure we stay focused on institutional intentions.鈥
President Brown said Kentucky State will advocate for a student-focused model and that the success and graduation of students must be the institution鈥檚 highest priority.
鈥淓verything that we鈥檙e doing is to deliver the best quality programs to our students,鈥 President Brown said.
