Ā鶹ֱ²„ hosted The Frankfort Arts Foundationās āA Veterans Day Celebrationā at Bradford Hall on Sunday. The event featured the prestigious 202nd Army Band of Kentucky National Guard and the Capital City Chorale.
Mayor Bill May, who is also a KSU grad, welcomed the crowd and paid tribute to the brave men and women who defend the United States.

The 202nd Army Band performed songs including āArlington (Where Giants Lay Sleeping),ā āThe Mansion of the Lordā and the āArmed Forces Medleyā which consisted of Americaās five service songs in collaboration with the Capital City Choral.
The foundation also honored Dr. Leon Richard, who died on June 26, in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn. He was the former president of the Frankfort Arts Foundation having served for eight years. He was the professor of the high Brass in the Division of fine Arts at Ā鶹ֱ²„ for 38 years. He also the faculty advisor to the Ā鶹ֱ²„ Gospel Ensemble. Richard also played the trumpet with the Lexington philharmonic.
āThis was a really good event. My family and I had a wonderful time listening to the music that was performed by the band and the choir,ā said Earl Jones, a Frankfort resident. āIāll definitely be coming back next year. It was fun.ā
